Schedule of Costs of Retirement Plans
defined contribution plans during the third quarter 2017 and 2016 was $5 million and $9 million, respectively. For the nine-month periods ended September 30, 2017 and 2016, expense related to the defined contribution plans was $26 million and $26 million, respectively.
