Making a Difference Together

At Huntington Bank, we believe strong futures begin with strong communities. That’s why we invest in programs and partnerships that drive meaningful, lasting change. Guided by our purpose to make people’s lives better, help businesses thrive and strengthen the communities we serve, we support charitable initiatives that promote self-sufficiency and improve quality of life.

Giving Guidelines

Programmatic support may be provided to organizations with the appropriate Internal Revenue Service tax-exempt designation (501c3 or 170c1) serving communities located within Huntington’s footprint. Huntington focuses on the critical areas of impact illustrated below. Requests for funding which fall outside the focus areas will be considered when Huntington’s local executives identify alignment with community needs.

Focus Areas

  • Community Revitalization and Stabilization: Activities in low- and moderate-income (LM) areas, designated disaster areas, or underserved or distressed geographies that help attract and retain businesses and residents; create, retain or improve jobs for LMI individuals; or that are consistent with government plans for revitalization of an area.
  • Community Services: Activities in LMI areas, designated disaster areas, or underserved or distressed geographies that help attract and retain businesses and residents; create, retain or improve jobs for LMI individuals; or are consistent with government plans for revitalization of an area.
  • Affordable Housing: Activities that help ensure that LMI individuals benefit, or are likely to benefit, from the housing. This includes projects involving low-income housing tax credits (LIHTC), rental subsidies for LMI individuals, and income restrictions for residents.
  • Economic and Community Development: Activities assisting small businesses or farms with permanent job creation, retention, or improvement for LMI individuals, in LMI geographies, or in areas targeted for redevelopment by governments.

How We Give

Our philanthropic support is delivered through:

  • Grants to Nonprofits—We partner with mission-aligned organizations to amplify their impact.
  • Colleague Giving and Volunteering—Our colleagues contribute their time (nearly 35,000 hours in 2024), talent (such as nonprofit board service) and resources to causes they care about.
  • Foundation Support—The Huntington Foundation provides strategic funding to long-term community initiatives.
