Huntington Bank Recognized as a Great Place to Work in Two Detroit Surveys

TROY, Mich., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Huntington National Bank announced today that it has been recognized as a great place to work in two separate surveys of Metro Detroit companies.

For the sixth consecutive year, Huntington was named one of Metro Detroit's 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For by Corp! Magazine, and for the second year in a row, Huntington was ranked as a top company in the Detroit Free Press Best Places to Work 2009 Top Workplaces survey.

"It is a true honor to receive both of these awards in recognition of our commitment to our employees and the outstanding work that they do," said Rebecca Smith, East Michigan Regional President. "We pride ourselves on the level of talent we are able to attract and retain, and the extremely skilled associates we have at Huntington."

Companies included on Metro Detroit's 101 Best & Brightest Companies to Work For list are those who recognize employees as their greatest asset. This year, judges were looking for companies that demonstrated out-of-the-box thinking with support from top decision makers. They were also looking for stand-out programs, services and solutions for employees and the ability to adapt to the changing marketplace. Companies were evaluated on these factors and given scores based on a point system. Those with the highest scores made the list.

Huntington made the Best Places to Work 2009 list based directly on employee feedback from the Detroit Free Press Top Workplaces survey, which included responses from more than 32,000 employees from 173 companies in southeast Michigan. Only 75 organizations made the list.
