Huntington's Northwest Ohio President Sharon Speyer Appointed to University of Toledo Board of Trustees

TOLEDO, Ohio, Aug. 16 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sharon Speyer, Northwest Ohio Region President for Huntington Bank (Nasdaq: HBAN; www.huntington.com), has been appointed to the University of Toledo Board of Trustees by Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland.

"Sharon will add tremendous value to the board," said University of Toledo President Lloyd Jacobs. "As a graduate of our law school, she has been active in the Alumni Association and the College of Law Dean's Advisory Boards. As the regional president of Huntington, she also knows our northwestern Ohio communities and can guide UT as it continues its outreach to those areas."

Speyer who will serve a nine-year term on the board, earned her bachelor's degree in international studies at The Ohio State University.

"Sharon's Toledo roots, vast business experience and extensive relationships in the community will bring a fresh perspective to our board," said Board Chairman William Fall. "We are looking forward to her active participation in the future growth of the university."

She is currently serving as 2010 Campaign Chair for the United Way of Greater Toledo.
