Anderson has 32 years of financial services and global treasury management experience. He will report to Regional and Commercial Bank Director Jim Dunlap.

“Michael brings to Huntington a rare blend of business, customer service and technology expertise that helps him understand the needs of businesses as they look to leverage new financial payment systems and technologies,” said Dunlap. “He also has broad experience in working with global cash management, which is a growing need for businesses that want to become active in the international marketplace.”

Anderson joins Huntington from Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group, Inc. (MUFJ) where he most recently served as general manager of transaction banking for the Americas. His responsibilities included developing global products, enhancing client relationships, and working with MUFJ Tokyo, Latin America, Canada, and its Union Bank subsidiary to build relationships globally.

Prior to MUFJ, Anderson spent 25 years with Mellon Financial Services where he oversaw global cash management marketing and product management. He eventually became international regional chief information officer before leading Mellon’s European global investment administration services.

At Huntington, Anderson leads a well-established treasury management organization recognized by Greenwich Associates earlier this year for excellence in overall customer satisfaction, service and product capability.

“Huntington is renowned for its strong relationships and customer-focused ingenuity,” said Anderson. “Expect that to continue as we accelerate the development of our global cash management capabilities and help companies embrace new financial strategies that help them grow their businesses.”

Anderson is a member of the American Marketing Association and the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals. His experience includes past service on the boards and committees of Princeton e-com, the American National Standards Institute and the National Automated Clearing House Association.

Anderson earned a master’s degree in business administration in finance and marketing from the University of Pittsburgh’s Katz School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Allegheny College. He is a U.S. patent holder for the design of a commercial utility bill processing and payment system.
