Huntington Bank Collecting Gifts for WISH Tree Toy Drive in Indiana
Huntington to collect toys for Salvation Army at all Indiana branches
INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 18, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- Huntington Bank (Nasdaq: HBAN) (www.huntington.com) is partnering with WISH-TV to help local families in need by accepting holiday gift toy donations for Salvation Army Indiana at all Huntington branches statewide. The WISH Tree collection begins Nov. 18 and continues through Dec. 10.
"Huntington is joining WISH-TV and Salvation Army Indiana to make the holidays happier for children in our Central Indiana communities," said Huntington Region President Mike Newbold. "Even the smallest gift can bring a big smile to a kid's face. Our 50 Indiana branches will provide convenient donation spots throughout the region for our customers, employees and everyone else who wants to give."
In addition to serving as a donation collection point, Huntington will provide volunteers to help families selected by Salvation Army Indiana pick out toys at a Dec. 16 donation event. Approved families will get to choose gifts with an assigned helper based on family size.
WISH Tree is a Central Indiana-based effort of the Salvation Army's Tree of Lights gift-giving campaign supported locally by WISH-TV. The toy drive will kick-off on Nov. 18 with a press conference emceed by WISH-TV anchor Eric Halvorson at Salvation Army Indiana headquarters, also featuring Huntington region president Newbold.
Huntington Bank is a consistent community supporter of Salvation Army Indiana. Most recently, Huntington helped local families send children back to school by donating 1,000 backpacks and school supplies to Salvation Army Indiana to support Indianapolis Public Schools.
