University of Texas Athletics and Huntington Bank Announce Landmark 10-Year Partnership
Huntington Bank named Official Bank Sponsor of University of Texas Athletics and The Texas Exes in long-term commitment to serving Longhorns fans
AUSTIN, Texas (August 21, 2026)— University of Texas Athletics and Huntington Bank today announced a landmark 10-year sponsorship that establishes Huntington Bank as the Official Bank Sponsor of University of Texas Athletics and the Official Bank Sponsor of The Texas Exes, the university's official alumni association.
The sponsorship is centered around experiences that are deeply meaningful and engaging to the University of Texas community as Huntington continues to expand across the state. Among them, Gate 8 at Darrell K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium will be renamed Huntington Bank Gate, providing a visible entry point that will welcome Texas fans and the community into the iconic home of the Longhorns.
“We couldn’t be more excited to be growing our presence in Texas—and there’s no better partner to be doing so with than the University of Texas,” said Huntington Chairman and CEO Steve Steinour. “The University of Texas is one of the state’s most iconic and trusted institutions, and together we can do more to support the people, communities and culture that make Texas such an important part of Huntington’s future.”
The agreement represents a significant milestone in Huntington's ongoing investment in Texas and reinforces the bank's commitment to serving individuals, businesses and communities across the state.
“We’re proud to welcome Huntington Bank into Longhorn Nation and begin a relationship rooted in shared values and a commitment to serving the state of Texas,” said Chris Del Conte, vice president and Lois and Richard Folger Athletics Director. “Their investment strengthens our Longhorns network, creates new opportunities for engagement across our entire fan base, and furthers our mission of delivering a lasting impact both on campus, throughout the entire state and around the globe.”
As part of the agreement, Huntington Bank will become the Official Bank Sponsor of University of Texas Athletics across all sports. Huntington Bank also will serve as the Official Bank Sponsor of The Texas Exes, connecting the bank with one of the nation's largest and most engaged alumni communities.
“This partnership reflects how we're approaching Texas: showing up locally, investing in relationships, and supporting initiatives that are important to the state and help it thrive,” said Huntington president of consumer and regional banking Brant Standridge. “The pride and connection people have to the University of Texas runs deep. We are honored to announce a partnership that means so much to generations of students, alumni, and fans.”
The long-term sponsorship, developed and managed by Longhorn Sports Properties, a division of college sports media and technology leader Learfield, creates new opportunities for Huntington Bank to engage with Longhorns fans and alumni, including:
- Season Presenting sponsor of Texas Volleyball
- Presenting sponsor of the Texas Longhorns mobile app,
- Presenting sponsor of the new Longhorn City Limits Speakeasy, and
- Marketing integrations for student-athletes that provide them with business opportunities and personal brand growth.
“Our volleyball program and the exceptional players on our team are committed to excellence on and off the court, and we are excited to have a difference maker like Huntington Bank join us in keeping the momentum of our program going,” said Jerritt Elliott, director of volleyball & head volleyball coach at Texas whose team is currently ranked No. 2 in the AVCA Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Huntington has operated in Texas for nearly 20 years and grew its presence substantially over the past year through partnerships with Veritex Community Bank and Cadence Bank. Huntington’s Texas leadership has deep ties to the University. Vice Chairman of Huntington Bank, Dan Rollins is an alumnus as is Regional Group President Billy Braddock, East & Central Texas Regional President Peyton Jones, who has a family connection to the former University of Texas President Homer Rainey, the namesake of Rainey Hall, and Houston Regional President Ross Vaughan.
“Huntington Bank challenged us to think about how their sponsorship could make the fan experience better—however and wherever fans are consuming Texas Athletics. Bringing a Longhorn City Limits speakeasy to life simply wouldn't have been possible without their commitment, and I'm excited about the stories we'll tell across our social and digital channels alongside our student athletes, added Lucas Motta, vice president of Longhorn Sports Properties. “This is a relationship that will engage our fans and alumni year-round, and we couldn't be happier to officially launch the relationship.”
Huntington is proud to have several prominent Longhorn alumni as part of its expanding sports platform, including Texas native and world No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler; Farah O'Keefe, the current NCAA Women's Individual Golf Champion; and three other former All-Americans now playing professionally.
“At Huntington, our brand promise begins with a simple word: Welcome. Our sponsorship of Huntington Bank Gate brings that promise to life,” said Huntington chief marketing officer Vijay Konduru. “It will be more than an entrance for us—it is where students, alumni, families and fans from across Texas come together. Every person who walks through represents the spirit of connection and community that defines both UT and Texas. It is a visible symbol of how Huntington hopes to show up across the state—with open doors, strong relationships and a commitment to serving Texans.”
